Igbinedion University Okada has produced again another First class graduate from the Nigerian Law School. He is AbdulRasheed Bolaji Ijaodola.
Mr. AbdulRasheed Bolaji Ijaodola who graduated with First Class from the Oba Erediauwa College of Law of Igbinedion University Okada with a First Class degree in Law is the only candidate from a Private University in Nigeria among the only five candidates who made First Class at the just-released result of the Nigerian Bar Examination.
The result of the Nigerian Law School as announced by its Director-General, Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma SAN. indicates that 2515 candidates wrote the bar exam out of which only five made first class. Others are 77 second Class Upper, 633 Second Class Lower, 1,067 Pass and 82 with Conditional Pass while 633 candidate failed the examination.
In another development, Igbinedion University Okada won an international engagement grant in partnership with Liverpool John Moore University, United Kingdom as part of the dividend of its Internationalization efforts.
The programme which “Assesses the Challenges and Opportunities for Digital Financial Access to African women” is currently being driven through a series of webinars involving other international and local partners led by Igbinedion University, Okada. Other participants are drawn from Sichitel Uk, Project Life Design Limited, Zambia, University of Port-Harcourt, Riby Financial Limited and Centre for Sustainability and Design, Uk.
Meanwhile, in furtherance of its drive for internationalization of academic programmes in the University, Igbinedion University Okada has recently deepened its relationship with Lancaster University through a grant jointly won by the two Universities to interrogate the “Assessment of the Challenges and Opportunities of the Mental Health Sector in Africa”. Both Universities have recently signed a working MOU.
The engagement which is expected to progress towards a huge international grant application in October is currently holding in partnership with a wide range of international partners and local institutions including Lancaster University, University of Lagos, University of Zambia, University of Botswana, University of Benin, National Health Service, United Kingdom and a host of others.
Similarly, Igbinedion University Okada has made significant progress in its relationship with Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom since the visit of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye Ph.D. FAS, to Manchester in 2019.
However, the relationship which was supposed to come to a good highlight through a July Special Summer School programme which students of Igbinedion University Okada were to attend in Manchester has been put on hold because of the Covid-19 global pandemic. However, the summer programme is currently being reconsidered for possible launch via an online platform.
Still on the Internationalization of academic programmes in Igbinedion University Okada, the University recently launched an online International Career Enhancement Programme for all 200 level students in a two-week comprehensive online flexible course designed on the back of an International Bestselling Book – The Graduate Code which is part of the University’s Community Service Program (CSP)
The course which is accredited and certified by the United Kingdom Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification service is in partnership with Lancaster University.
Likewise, the School of Post-Graduate Studies of Igbinedion University Okada has established an Executive MBA/DBA program in partnership with Rosular Foundation and University of London, University of Cranfield, Liverpool John Moores University, Lancaster University and Arden University.
The IUO MBA/DBA programme is designed to promote the development of International Executive Portfolio programmes.
