The ICT Unit of Igbinedion University Okada has unveiled its home-grown mobile application for the University. The application called “Igbinedion University App” was developed in-house by a staff in the ICT unit, Mr. Timothy Biobaku and formally presented to the University Management at the Senate Chambers on Wednesday, 15th July, 2020.
The App which according to the developer, Mr. Biobaku has been submitted and awaiting approval from Google PlayStore provides easy access to IUO platforms including the University Website, the Online Learning Management System (OLMS) for online teaching, the CBT module for continuous assessment test, the university portal and the University Management team profiles among other features.
Mr. Biobaku while demonstrating the application to the Management stated that only the android version of the application has been for now deployed noting that the IOS version that will work with i-phones is in progress.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor commended Mr. Timothy Biobaku for the significant value he has added to the University in the short time that he was employed and directed the Registrar to issue him a commendation letter for his distinguished contributions. The VC noted that the ICT unit has gained traction and achieved tangible results since Mr. Biobaku assumed duty especially in the ongoing online teaching via the Online Learning Management Systems (OLMS) on the University portal.
The Vice-Chancellor further assured the ICT Director and the ICT team that the University will continue to support the unit with adequate resources that would enable them to deliver on their expectations which he said remains very high.
