The management of Nigeria’s Private Premier University, Igbinedion University Okada led by it’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye Ph.d fsa, has begun procedures for a Staggered Resumption of academic activities amid its On-line Learning Management System (OLMS) through which the University is already engaging students in virtual academic teachings; attending classes and taking continuous assessments from the comfort of their homes.
Speaking During the inauguration of committee on Guildlines/Modalities for reopening the University amidst the COVID-19 pandemic on Monday 15th June 2020, the V.C Prof. Ezemonye expressed confidence that the Management’s strategy which includes but not limited to extreme and multifaceted sensitization of staffs and students, inauguration of a guideline monitoring committee, and proposed distribution of safety equipments will provide a stable and safe environment for learning.
Prof. Ezemonye has revealed that the staggered resumption will herald new and uncommon strategies in his administration’s determination to prevent an outbreak of the novel COVID-19 within the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor also noted that the University as part of its Community Social Responsibility (CSR) recently donated its mass-produced face masks and hand sanitizers to its host community – Okada Town through its Community Service Programme( CSP).
He also used the medium to urge Parents/guardians to be mindful of the extant government policies of social distancing, regular hand washing, use Of facemasks, alcohol based hand sanitizers, as well as expressing the university’s dedication of providing quality education.
