The Vice-Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye has presented the newly appointed Registrar of the University to Principal Officers and Senior Registry Staff of the University.
The new Registrar, Mr. Friday Benji Bakare, Esq. was before his appointment a Deputy Registrar at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He joined the services of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in 1985 as a pioneer staff of the Degree Program of the NDA and rose to become a Deputy Registrar in 2009.
Mr. Bakare is an alumnus of the prestigious Administrative Staff College of Nigeria and holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and two Masters Degrees in International Affairs and Public Administration (MPA).
He is a member of several professional bodies including the Association of University Administrators (ANUPA), International Bar Association (IBA) and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administrators (FCIA). The new Registrar, Mr. Friday Benji Bakare resumed work on the 1st of July 2020.
While addressing the gathering of Principal Officers and Senior Registry staff comprising of Deputy Registrars (DRs), Principal Assistant Registrars (PARs) and Senior Assistant Registrars (SARs), the Vice-Chancellor seized the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to the University Management team and all staff of the University for the congratulatory messages he has been receiving on his second anniversary in office as Vice-Chancellor.
He noted that all the achievement recorded during the period is clearly a product of the synergy and support that has been at play in the University system. He therefore enjoined all staff of the University to extend the same courtesy to the new Registrar to make the transition from the end of the tenure of the immediate past Registrar to the new one smoother and to improve the narratives of achievements.
Responding, the new Registrar, Mr. Bakare thanked the University authority for the opportunity given him to serve. He also expressed his delight at the hospitality accorded him by the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management since his arrival. Mr. Bakare remarked that he believes in teamwork and is a good team player. He assured that he is ready to hit the ground sprinting and therefore called for maximum cooperation from all staff in the Registry.
