workshop to mark the 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

Benin City Window on America partnered with the Conference of Non-Governmental Organisations (CONGOs), Edo State, in a one day workshop to end Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

Every year, the world unites for 16 Days of Activism to amplify voices in the fight against gender-based violence.

The workshop featured a series of engaging sessions, including expert panel discussions, interactive dialogue, case studies, and group activities.

Key speakers emphasized the urgency of collective action and shared insights on practical approaches to combating gender-based violence. Participants explored topics such as the importance of education, advocacy, legal frameworks, and community involvement in driving meaningful change.

The event culminated in a robust brainstorming session, where stakeholders proposed innovative solutions to strengthen collaboration among government bodies, NGOs, and local communities.

Recommendations included increased awareness campaigns, accessible support services for survivors, and the implementation of stricter penalties for perpetrators of violence.

This impactful workshop reaffirmed the commitment of the Benin City Window on America and CONGOs to creating a society where women live free from violence and fear. The participants left with renewed resolve and actionable plans to advance the cause, sending a strong message that there is #NoExcuse for gender-based violence.

The event was attended by over thirty three advocacy-focused and inclusive Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) across Edo State.
