♻️ ECO-CLEAN DRIVE A RESOUNDING SUCCESS IN OKADA

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Igbinedion University Okada Student Chapter, brought its green vision to life on Saturday November 22, 2025, transforming a section of the Okada Market during its highly successful “Eco-Clean Drive.”

The initiative, which kicked off promptly at 8:00 AM, saw a dedicated team of student volunteers armed with cleaning tools, waste bags, and a passion for environmental stewardship. Their mission was clear: to promote a cleaner, healthier community through direct action and sensitization.

The event was a vibrant display of community and service. Volunteers diligently engaged in waste collection and sanitation activities, clearing drains and picking up litter across the market area. Beyond the physical cleaning, the chapter members interacted directly with market traders and visitors, educating them on the importance of proper waste disposal and sustainable practices.

The outreach was met with enthusiastic support from the community, with many locals commending the students for their dedication and positive impact.

“This initiative reflects our core dedication to sustainability and responsible environmental stewardship,” said a chapter representative. “We believe that a cleaner environment begins with us, and today, we are proud to see our small steps creating a visible, positive impact in our host community.”

The successful Eco-Clean Drive has not only left a tangible mark on the cleanliness of the market but has also strengthened the bond between the University and its host community, setting a powerful example of youth-led environmental action.
