Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun (born October 19, 1953) is a distinguished Nigerian academic, administrator, and professor of Animal Nutrition. Educated at the University of Ibadan, he began his career at the
University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in 1979, becoming a full professor by age 34. As an administrator, he served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UNILORIN, significantly increasing internally generated revenue. He is best known as the 4th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) from 2007 to 2012, where he led a “monumental turn-around,” overseeing over 40 major infrastructural projects and digitizing university operations. In 2019, he was appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED). Throughout his career, Professor Balogun has received numerous accolades, including the Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Award, published over 60 academic papers, and is recognized for his humanitarian efforts. He is married to Professor Elizabeth Abidemi Balogun.
