Dr. Solanke Olatoye Ezekiel is an accomplished Nigerian academic, researcher, and lecturer specializing in Environmental Biology and Environmental & Public Health Microbiology. He is currently affiliated with the Department of Biological Sciences (Microbiology), Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria, where he has contributed significantly to teaching, research, and institutional development.
Dr. Solanke holds a Ph.D. in Environmental & Public Health Microbiology (2024) from Igbinedion University, alongside a Postgraduate Diploma in the same field (2021). He previously earned an M.Sc. in Zoology (2003) from the University of Ibadan and a B.Sc. in Zoology (2000) from Olabisi Onabanjo University. His academic foundation reflects a strong interdisciplinary orientation spanning zoology, microbiology, and environmental science.
With over 15years of academic and professional experience, Dr. Solanke has risen through the ranks from Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer I. His teaching portfolio is extensive, covering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in general biology, microbiology, ecology, toxicology, molecular biology, immunology, and biostatistics. He has supervised over 25 undergraduate research projects and is actively mentoring postgraduate students, demonstrating strong commitment to capacity building in biological sciences.
Dr. Solanke’s research focuses on ecotoxicology, environmental pollution, microbial degradation, bioinformatics, and public health microbiology.
