Professor Azike Rowland is a researcher, with specialization in reaction engineering, Corrosion and environmental engineering and control, interest in Application of software to Chemical Engineering Design, Process Design and Analysis. Drilling fluid, and renewable energy.
Prof. Azike Rowland Ugochukwu, a Professor with specialization in Reaction Engineering, Corrosion and Environmental control and have interest in Application of software to Chemical Engineering Design, Process Design and Analysis, is a Nigerian, holder of PhD degree from University, of Benin, has fifteen (16) years cognate experience in the Private University as a teacher, a researcher, manager, and an administrator and seven (7) years’ experience in industry as a researcher, manager, and a consultant. He is a member of two professional bodies NSE and NSChE and COREN registerd Presently, in the employ of Igbinedion University, Okada as Professor in the department of Chemical /Petroleum Engineering and Dean in the College of Engineering. His duties was basically lecturing and research apart from administrative responsibilities.
He rose through the rank from Lecturer II to professorship in Chemical Engineering. He had served in various committees in the past and currently serving in capacity as a chairman or member of a committee in the university and college, such as Accreditation committee, Appointment and Promotion Committee (A&PC), New Programme Committee, to mention but a few.
He has experience in the use of Computer software like HYSYS, ChemCAD, PROII to solve Chemical Engineering Design and Simulation problems and using Pipesim to solve pipeline and facility problems and Reservoir simulations He was also Environmental Compliance Manager in Thermosteel Nigeria limited, Effurun, where he gained industrial experience in Consultancy, Analytical Laboratory services, Environmental Compliance Analysis, Writing Reports on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Post Impact Assessment (PIA), Quality Control and Quality Assurance Analysis and Technical Report Writing. He has over 30 publication in national and international journals and had supervised over 35 undergraduate projects, four Master’s degree and one PhD thesis. He had served as a Resource Person on two occasion in COREN accreditation in public universities and currently the National Vice Chairman of Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technologies of Nigerian Universities (CODET). Rowland is married with children and a lover of reading, writing, sports and farming.
