NUC OKAYS FOUR NEW PROGRAMMES FOR IGBINEDION UNIVERSITY

Igbinedion University, Okada, has secured approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence four new academic programmes from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval expands the academic offerings of Nigeria’s premier private University and creates new opportunities for students seeking careers in intelligence and security, public health, healthcare administration and anatomical sciences.

The newly approved programmes are B.Sc. Intelligence and Security Studies, B.Sc. Public Health, B.Sc. Healthcare Administration and Hospital Management, and PGD, M.Sc. and Ph.D. Anatomy.

The programmes will be offered on a full time basis at the University’s Main Campus.

The approval followed a resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts from the NUC, which assessed the University’s human and material resources for the proposed programmes.

In its approval letter dated September 11, 2026, the Commission said its decision was based on the findings of the verification panel and directed the University to maintain adequate resources for the development and growth of the programmes.

The latest approval is another addition to Igbinedion University’s growing portfolio of academic programmes and reflects the institution’s continuing efforts to expand access to quality university education while responding to emerging national and global manpower needs.

The University said it would continue to uphold the standards set by the NUC through sustained investment in qualified academic staff, modern facilities and an enabling learning environment.

Details of admission requirements and application procedures for the new programmes are available on the university website for prospective applicants to access.
