Several Units of the University Community paid courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor in the month of July 2018
The first teams were the Board and Management of Igbinedion University Staff School. The team was led by Prof. (Mrs.) Tonye Okorie who is the Chairman of the IUSS Board, other members of the team include Dr. R.E Nwokedi (Board member), Mrs. Igbinosa Deputy Registrar (Academics), Mr. Taiwo Fadeji of the Bursary Department (member), Mr. Ogungbele Akeem, (Secondary School) Mr. Godwin Wonah (Primary School) and Mrs. Oyewale Monisola (Head Teacher).
The Chairman of the IUSS Board seized the moment to welcome the Vice-Chancellor to the University, while, congratulating him on his recent appointment and assumption of office. She also gave a brief history of the school and reports on the current state of affair of the school.
She however, noted that the primary challenge of the school apart from fund is erosion which is threatening the foundation of the buildings.In his response, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Board of Management of IUSS for deeming it fit to pay him the courtesy visit. He assured them of his readiness to give support at all times, He also thanked them for the prudent management of the facilities and available meager resources of the school.
He noted that the erosion problem is geographical, based on the location of the school structures. He however assures that steps would be taken to mitigate the erosion challenge in due course, particularly as it affects the Crown Estate at large.
Afterwards, the Vice-Chancellor attended to the team from Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital. The team was led by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital Prof. Julius Awe. Oke, other members, include CMAC of the hospital Dr. R. Uduoise, Head of Administration Barr. Omorege and the Hospital Administrator Mr. Ben Inaken.
The CMD, Prof. Julius Awe, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for honoring their request to pay him a courtesy call, and as well congratulated him on his assumption of office as new Vice-Chancellor of the great Igbinedion University.
Prof. Awe however, noted that the Teaching Hospital Board would soon pay the Vice-Chancellor a formal visit, but that this is the Hospital Management team that was visiting.
He gave a brief update on the activities of the hospital and asked the Vice-Chancellor to please find time to visit the hospital any time soon to see things for himself.
Responding, The Vice-Chancellor thanked the Hospital Management team for the courtesy visit.
He assured them of his commitment to maintain the stride of the immediate past Vice-Chancellor Prof. Osaghae and to improve on it everywhere possible so that the good works may endure.
He also assured, the CMD that he would pay a working visit to the hospital to have first hand encounter with the environment.
