Prof. Sunday J. JOSIAH

Prof. S. J. Josiah is a Professor of Biochemistry with specialization in Ethnopharmacology and Toxicology. His research endeavours have been in the area of screening, investigation and analyzing Medicinal plants with a view to authenticating and providing scientific evidence for several of the herbs and medicinal plants used in Traditional Medical practice and by local herbalists. He holds B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D Biochemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Ibadan, Ibadan and Igbinedion University, Okada respectively.

He has served in different capacities as Head of Department, Sub-Dean, Hall Warden, Member of Senate Committees. He is currently the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences and Chairman, Security Committee as well as Congregation Representative in Council. Professor Josiah belongs to several professional bodies, such as Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology (NISEB), Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NSBMB), West African Society of Toxicology (WASOT). He is widely published.
