The Department of Mass Communication Igbinedion University Okada was established in the year 2002 to run a degree programme in the College of Arts and Social Sciences after the successful take-off of the university in 1999. The Department boasts of world class faculty, who are mostly doctorate degree holders and excellent facilities to teach all the different areas of Mass Communication – Advertising, Broadcast, Public Relations and Print Journalism. The Department stands tall among her peers. The philosophy of Igbinedion University Mass Communication programme is to produce graduates who are academically and professionally empowered with the competencies required to discharge their duties to society. Mass Communication is a fast growing field with various job opportunities in Public Relations, Advertising Agencies, Newspaper, Radio, Television, Publishing houses, Governmental organizations, Events and corporate communications, industries and many other sectors. There are various job profiles available for Mass Communication professionals.
