New VC assumes office

A new Vice Chancellor has assumed duty at the nation’s premier private university, the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State. Prof Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye took over from Prof Eghosa Osaghae who presided over the institution for fourteen years as Vice Chancellor.

Prof Ezemonye is a renowned professor of Ecotoxicology and Environmental Forensics in the department of Animal and Environmental Biology, with over thirty years of experience in research and teaching.

He is currently a visiting professor to Lancaster University, UK, a pioneer Federal Director of the National Centre for Energy and Environment of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, National President of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), a distinguished Fellow of the Nigerian Environmental Society (FNES), Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (FSESN) and Advisor, West African Society of Toxicology (WASOT).

The new VC has established university research linkages in Africa, Asia, Canada, UK and the US.
