RESEARCH SKILLS: Isolation and characterization of novel and existing medicinal compounds from plant. Structural elucidation of novel and existing medicinal compounds from plants (Steroids, terpenes, flavonoids, alkaloids and fatty acids). Essential and volatile oils extraction and chemical contents analysis using hydrodistilllation and gas chromatography- mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Quality assurance of brands of drugs and medicinal products. In-vitro antidiabetic biological assay (Alpha amylase inhibitory assay). Mosquito repellent assay (Human bait method using volunteers). Cytotoxicity evaluation of extracts, fractions and compounds isolated from medicinal plants using brine shrimp larva and tadpoles.
