Biography

Friday Benji Bakare Esq. obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and was called to the Nigerian Bar subsequently.  He also holds Masters’ degrees in International Affairs and Strategic Studies and Public Administration, respectively obtained from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.   He is an alumnus of the prestigious Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji Senior Course 28. 

A certified Academic Planner, he started his administrative career with the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in 1985 rising to the position of Senior Deputy Registrar.  He was subsequently appointed Registrar of Igbinedion University, Okada in 2020.

Besides being a prolific writer and professional trainer, Mr. Bakare has several honours and awards to his credit.  He has undertaken several professional certifications, attended conferences both within and outside the country and published/presented papers at academic fora. 

As a professional university administrator, he has contributed to policy development and growth of the institutions he has been privileged to serve.  More importantly, he has mentored quite a number of colleagues who are holding important positions in the Registry of various higher institutions.

Mr. Bakare belongs to several professional bodies, such as the Association of Registrars of Nigerian

Universities (ARNU), Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA), Association of University Administrators (MAUA), United Kingdom and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), amongst others.

His areas of research interest include Leadership and Higher Education Management.
