BRIEF HISTORY:         

Okitefre Oboho is a PhD research student in the Theatre Arts Department. He majors in Theatre Design and Technology with emphasis on New Media Technology [NMT], Music and Sound Design. Okitefre, a theatre practitioner from childhood, debuted as a pioneer actor on the NTA’s Childrens programme “Kidi-Vision 101” in the late 80’s. He has written screenplay for the NTA Benin produced Television series “Your Family and your Health” – a series that addresses human trafficking – in 2009, and more recently appeared in the 5th season of MNet Africa’s popular Television series “Tinsel” in 2012 before delving into the academia. He has published a collection of plays “Four Improvised Plays” under his literary arts pseudonym, OkitefreP’ta. He has released numerous music singles including the remake of the legendary Fela Kuti song “When Trouble Sleep, Yanga Wake Am!!”  titled “Palaver” using the pseudonym – BreThreN – with a musical catalogue available on public music platforms like:www.reverbnation.com/BReThReN,www.youtube.com/BrethrenArtiste, www.youtube.com/okitefreoboho.He has directed plays for the stage, short films and served as Theatre Designer for successive commissioned I.U.O convocation play productions. As part of his ongoing research study, he serves as the Creative /Artistic Director of the “Tru9JahShow” – a live game show series that seeks to use NMT as an alternative form for sociocultural reorientation in Nigeria.
