OPUTE Deh Randolph, MNSE, MSPE, MNIEE, MNiPeTE, MNiPeTGE, NIFEngM, COREN, Reg. is a lecturer with Igbinedion University Okada. He lived his early life in Accra, Lagos and Benin city. He is from Ndokwa West Local Govt Area Delta State, and a maternal Ghanaian heritage. His educational background includes but not limited to; Victory Nursery and Primary school, (1984-1990,) Edo College (1991-1996, Esigie house), University of Benin (2000-2006 BEng, 2010-2012 MEng), Benin city, Edo state.
He has held several positions in The Nigerian Society of Engineers NSE Benin Branch including Technical Secretary and Financial Secretary and National Committee member on Industry and Academia Relationship. His research area is on environmental engineering. Ways of controlling Environmental Pollution – Oil Spillage and Gas Flaring. Carbon emission, Carbon capture and carbon footprint. Carbon Emission the release of greenhouse gases (mostly CO₂) into the atmosphere. The Source: It happens whenever we burn fossil fuels like coal, oil, or gas for electricity, heating, and transportation. The Effect: These gases trap heat, leading to global warming. Carbon Footprint the total amount of emissions caused by an individual, event, organization, or product. Personal level: It includes your travel habits, the food you eat, and the energy you use at home. Product level: It counts everything from raw material extraction to manufacturing and shipping. Carbon Capture the technology used to prevent CO₂ from entering the atmosphere or to remove it once it’s there. Point-source capture: Scrubbing CO₂ directly from factory smokestacks before it escapes. Direct Air Capture (DAC): Using giant fans and chemical reactions to “pull” carbon out of the open air. Storage: The captured carbon is usually compressed and pumped deep underground into rock formations for permanent storage.
