Born in the ancient city of Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, on 13th May 1956, holds a Bachelor Sciences degree (Pharmacy) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, Nigeria. He is a Member of National Institute (MNI), a Fellow of the West African Post-graduate College of Pharmacists (FWAPCPharm) and a Fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), and has undertaken several Professional and Management courses in various Universities and Institutes including Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
Prof. Ahmed T. Mora has practiced Pharmacy in all the core areas of the profession and garnered wide range of experience. His forays in lecturing and University administration traversed Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State University, Kaduna where he was Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and pioneer Head of Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Management from 2012 to 2016, and Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria where he is currently the first Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice.
He served at various times in Kaduna State as Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Ministry of Health, Project Manager, Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for the AIDB/AFDF – Assisted Kaduna Health Rehabilitation Project (KHRP), MD/CEO of Zaria Pharmaceutical Company (ZPC), Ltd, Zaria, Nigeria (Manufacturers of Zarinject disposable syringes and needles), among others. He holds the readitional titles of Wakilin Maganin Zazzau of the Zassau of the Zazzau Emirate and K’ ayayen Sarki Musulmi, of the Sokoto Caliphate. Prof. Mora, as an astute administrator, led the PCN as Registrar/CEO from October 2003 to January 2012 to execute a radical restructuring and transformation of the PCN into a global player in pharmacy regulation. He was a member of the PCN Governing Council at various times and is its current Chairman. He was recently appointed into the Governing Council of Igbinedion University, Okada as a member of Council. Prior to that, Prof. Mora served as member of the Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria from August 2015 to February 2021 in his capacity as National President of Abu Alumni Association
