Dr. Obinna H. Ogbonna

Dr. Obinna H. Ogbonna is a scholar of Globalization and Development Studies with a strong interdisciplinary background spanning Sociology, development studies, and management. Over the years, his academic work/research is deeply informed by a commitment to equity, participatory development, and the transformative role of institutions in Dr advancing human well-being.

A core area of Dr. Obinna’s scholarly interest is Gender Studies, particularly the mainstreaming of women and other marginalized groups in development discourse and practice. This interest has produced peer-reviewed academic publications, including “Gender and Politics: Gender Balance as a Panacea to a Credible and Successful Election” published in the Meditteranean Journal of Social Sciences (MJSS), as well as his M.Sc. thesis, “Millennium Development Goals and Women Empowerment: Women’s Perceptions of Relevant MDGs in Amuwo  Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos State, Nigeria.” His specialization in Development Studies prioritizes social justice, inclusivity, and gender-responsive development, with a consistent emphasis on the empowerment of women as a critical driver of sustainable development.
