Dr. Yemisi Funmilayo Bosun-Fakunle is a renowned scholar in Accounting and an analyst. Born on April 22, 1977, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Yemisi grew up in a family that valued hard work, education, and community service. Her parents, both educators, instilled in her a love for learning and a strong moral compass. She excelled in school and earned a National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy, both from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. She also holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Accounting from Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.
Additionally, she is a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.Yemisi began her career in accounting in the Accounting Department of Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, Okada, Edo State, where she rose to the level of Senior Accountant and Acting Head of the Department. She transitioned to a lecturing career at Salem University, Lokoja, Kogi State, starting as an Assistant Lecturer in 2013 after 13 years as a non-academic staff member. She rose to the level of Lecturer II at the same university before moving to Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Ughelli, Delta State, where she was appointed Lecturer I in 2018. Yemisi worked at Michael and Cecilia Ibru University until February 2023, when she moved to Igbinedion University, Okada, as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting. Due to her integrity and diligence, she was appointed Head of the Department of Accounting in March 2024.
Driven by her quest for knowledge, she acquired skills in econometric analysis. Dr. Yemisi Funmilayo Bosun-Fakunle is happily married with children.
