Dr. Sylvester Onyeoma is Head of Department of Economics & Development Studies. He obtained B.Sc. in 1998, MBA in 2001 and M.Sc. (Economics) in 2006 from the University of Benin, Benin City. He bagged Masters Degree in Energy and Petroleum Economics (MEPE) in 2003 from Delta State University, Abraka in Delta State, Nigeria. He also obtained PhD (Economics) 2016 from Benson Idahosa University, Benin City with specialization in Macro econometric Modelling and Policy Analysis. He is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) and a Chartered Banker (ACIB) with many years of Industry and University Lecturing experience at both undergraduate and Post Graduate levels. He served as a Manager at the defunct Intercontinental Bank Plc, now Access Bank Plc (2009 – 2011). He served as a HOD, Economics (2016 – 2018) at Edo University, Iyahmo, Edo State, Nigeria. He has attended many conferences and published many articles at both national and International levels with high impact journals. He is also a reviewer to many national and international journals including SAGE Journals. He authored the book titled: Principles of Economics (2021) Nigeria, Brightway Publishers, ISBN: 978-978-997-200-5; and has contributed many chapters in books.
