

Students from the Dora Akunyili College of Pharmacy, Igbinedion University Okada, embarked on a facility tour of the Emzor Shagamu Manufacturing Factory on Monday, March 17, 2025. The tour, led by Prof. Ahmed Tijjani Mora, aimed to provide the 500-level students with hands-on experience and insight into pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly received by Dr. Stella Chinyelu Okolie, CEO of Emzor Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company. Dr. Okolie expressed her delight in hosting the enthusiastic students, highlighting the importance of practical exposure in pharmacy education.
During the tour, the students were taken through various stages of pharmaceutical production, including quality control, packaging, and distribution. They engaged in interactive sessions with Emzor’s technical team, asking questions and gaining valuable knowledge about the industry.
This facility tour is part of Igbinedion University’s efforts to provide its students with experiential learning opportunities, bridging the gap between theory and practice. The collaboration between the university and Emzor Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company is expected to foster a stronger relationship, potentially leading to future research partnerships and job opportunities for graduates.
The students expressed their gratitude to Prof. Mora, Dr. Okolie, and the entire Emzor team for the enriching experience, which has broadened their understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and inspired them to pursue careers in the industry.
