IUO Governing Council Celebrates Esama at 90

The Governing Council of Igbinedion University, led by the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah OON, paid a heartfelt birthday visit to the Honourable Founder of the institution, Sir Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion CFR, as he celebrated his remarkable milestone of 90 years.

The visit, which took place on Thursday, was attended by a distinguished group of university officials and dignitaries, all of whom gathered to honour the legacy and contributions of Sir Chief Igbinedion to the establishment and growth of Igbinedion University, Nigeria’s first private university.

Among those present at the event were His Excellency Chief (Dr.) Lucky Nosakhare IGBINEDION, Deputy Chancellor and Representative of the Board of Regents, as well as key members of the university’s Governing Council, including Prof. Abiodun O. ILESANMI, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu EZEMONYE, Vice Chancellor, and High Chief Dr. Ben Obi. Other notable attendees included Prof. Oladapo A. AFOLABI, Engr. Gregory Utomwen OGBEIFUN, Dr. Elizabeth Titi UVOH-GARDNER, Prof. Abubakar Sani Sambo, Lady Celerina Mercy OJOMO, Dr. Stanley UZOCHUKWU, Prof. Ahmed Tijjani MORA, and Friday Benji BAKARE, Esq., who serves as the Registrar/Secretary to the Council.

The gathering was filled with expressions of gratitude and admiration for Sir Chief Igbinedion’s unwavering commitment to education and the development of young minds in Nigeria.
