Biography

Currently Associate Professor, and immediate past Sub-Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Research, as well as the immediate past Head of Department of Economics and Development Studies, Blessing Ose Oligbi holds the PhD degree in Economics from the University of Benin in Edo State, Nigeria, on a full scholarship from African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Nairobi Kenya. She has over 25 publications in reputable local and international learned journals. She is the author (along with B.O. Agara and E. Omoregie) of the book Foundation of Political Economy: A Primer. She also contributed a chapter “Social Inclusion, Good Governance and Poverty Eradication in Nigeria” to the book edited by B.E Aigbonkhan & H.E Oaikhenan entitled Nigeria’s Socio- Economic Challenges and Development Options: Essays in Honour of Proffessor (Mrs) Christiana Ehimen Edenomen Okojie. She has also supervised several postgraduate dissertations and theses. She has participated in, and read, several papers at local and international conferences and workshops. She also attended the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Joint Facility for Electives international training in Nairobi, Kenya between July 2011 and November 2011 with focus on Public sector Economics and Development Economics.
