Professor Nnanyelugo Martin Ike-Muonso is a distinguished natural resource economist and administrator with over 30 years of experience in economic policy, market research, and industrial development. In May 2024, he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu as the 6th substantive Director-General and CEO of the
Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC). In this role, he leads the national mandate to optimize the local sourcing and utilization of Nigeria’s raw materials to drive industrial growth. His academic background is extensive, holding a PhD in Economics from ESEADE University and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from SMC University. A prolific scholar, he has authored ten books and over 100 journal publications, focusing on supply chain dynamics, research commercialization, and economic strategy. He is also a visiting professor at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). Before his current appointment, Professor Ike-Muonso held several high-level positions in the private sector and academia. He served as the Chief Executive of ValueFronteira Limited and was an Associate Director at the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange. He has also contributed to international research as a Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, consistently bridging the gap between academic research and practical economic application.
