Spencer Chukwumaobim Nwangwu is a Professor of Biochemistry, the Director Centre for Climate Change and SDGs, and the current Dean, School of basic Medical Sciences, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria. He has served in many positions including Head of Department Biochemistry and a member of numerous ad hoc and standing committees in the University.
Spencer Nwangwu is a Commonwealth Professional Fellow with interest in creating platforms to drive and mainstream climate actions in Higher Education, sustainable agriculture, circular economy concepts and stimulation entrepreneurial thinking in scientists and students. He is a strong advocate of local content as key to social change leading to sustainable development. Co-design and co-delivery are the fundamental tool to drive community-based programmes for buy-in through partnerships and collaborations.
