Pharmacist Yemi Adekunle holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at the Nigeria’s premier University of Ibadan, in April 2014 where he graduated with distinction in Pharmacognosy, and the best graduating student in the departments of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. Due to his outstanding performance, Yemi won the University of Ibadan scholarship to run his master’s degree. He completed his MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry with distinction. Having graduated with a CGPA of 6.9 out of possible 7.0, the University of Ibadan ranked him in the top-third overall best MSc graduating students in November 2019 (https://dailypost.ng/2019/11/19/ui-grants-automatic-employment-to-3masters-students-with-over-7-0-cgpa/?amp). Yemi currently runs a PhD programme in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Ibadan. His research focus is on experimental and in silico structure-activity profiling of bioactive anticancer compounds from some selected Nigerian medicinal plants. Yemi was graduate assistant in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Ibadan (2017-2019); and Assistant Lecturer, Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Ibadan (2020-2021). Yemi is the author of two books on academic excellence: Pushing the Limits: From Riding Okada to Graduating with a Distinction in Pharmacy; and Excellence: Become the Best of Whatever You Are (www.amazon.com/dp/B07PGK1YLN). He has contributed to teaching and research in the university by teaching Pharmaceutical Chemistry related courses; and has published in peered review journals. He’s currently the 400 Level Course Adviser at the College of Pharmacy, and a member of College SIWES team.
