Biography

Dr. Osazee E. Izevbuwa is a multidisciplinary scholar and certified medical laboratory scientist with expertise in medical microbiology, virology, parasitology, and forensic science. He holds a PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Benin, with additional qualifications in forensic science, microbiology, and DNA analysis. He currently lectures at Igbinedion University, Okada, and practices at the university’s teaching hospital.

With over 50 peer-reviewed journal publications and three authored textbooks, Dr. Izevbuwa’s research focuses on the molecular epidemiology of parasitic and viral infections, particularly among children in Nigeria. He is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology International (ASCPi, USA) and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the West African Society of Toxicology (WASOT), the Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Initiative (AMRAI), the Forensic Research and Development Center (FORDEC), the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (AMLSCN) and the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN).

His work bridges laboratory science and public health, with a strong commitment to teaching, curriculum development, translational research, and genomic innovation.
